TROLLEY RIDES: Take as many trolley rides as you

would like operated by period dressed motormen.

Learn historic information about each car you ride

and how the museum began.



TROLLEY EXPERIENCES: Get up close and personal

as you climb aboard selected trolleys from our incredible

collection in the Visitors Center. What is it like to operate

a trolley? You can find out at the CTM. From streetcars to

Interurban cars this is your chance to take the controllers

and let your imagination “operate".

 CRAFTING TABLE: Make a Motorman Hat or create your

own trolley fare ticket. Take your new creations

home with you for future use.









DRESS-UP STATION: Dress up as a Motorman or Conductor!

FIRE TRUCK MUSEUM: View over 15 Fire Trucks dating

back to 1923. Learn more about the Fire Truck Museum’s

collection along with historic Fire Fighting Equipment.

Every Monday throughout the summer join us for Storytime featuring stories about the adventures of trolleys and trains.

The reading will be inside one of our historic trolleys with a trolley ride to follow.

Every story is different and all ages are welcome (June 19th thru August 28th at 11am)

July 7th - Christmas in July

Christmas time is back a little early this year!

Come enjoy Christmas movies and see what Christmas was like during the trolley era.



July 14th - Book Reading

Join us and meet Marie Betts Bartlett,

author and illustrator of The Little Yellow Trolley Car & Poppy’s Purpose.

The Little Yellow Trolley Car (recommended for ages 2-8) reading will be held at 11am.

Poppy's Purpose (recommended for ages 4-12) reading will be held at 12pm. Join one or both!



July 21st - Fast Forward

From trolleys to automobiles to high speed trains.

Come explore the evolution of transportation over the past 150 years.

There will be documentaries and opportunities to see the evolution of trolley cars

and the impact that automobiles had on the trolley era.



July 28th - Lutz Children’s Museum

“Track that Animal” Program.

Have you ever gone for a walk in the woods and seen a footprint or maybe some fresh scat?

Evidence of animal presence teaches us about how animals survive in their habitats.

From caves to trees, an animal’s home needs to provide food, water, and shelter for survival.



August 4th - Fare Friday

Come design your own ticket at the Connecticut Trolley Museum!

Fares during the trolley era consisted of tickets and now’s your chance to create

your own logo and ticket for your trolley company



August 11th - Passengers from the Past

Take   a ride back in time and enjoy the trolley experience as it was during the heyday of the trolley era.

Guests will be invited to partake in the historical recreation of the trolley era by coming dressed for the part.

Come dressed as if you were living in any decade from 1890-1920.



August 18th - Science Day

Come build a cardboard trolley and tracks.

Detailed explanations and displays showing the circuitry, mechanics, and pneumatics

that allow trolley cars to operate safely for the transportation of passengers and supplies.



August 25th - Super Hero and Princess Day

Dress up as your favorite Super Hero or Princess and join us for a

fun memorable day. There will be treat bags for children in costume.

Additionally, Super Hero/Princess theme activities and face painting will be

held throughout the day! It is sure to be a "Super" time!
