Please be a Connecticut Trolley Museum Volunteer
|
Do you have a desire to perform some type of community service? Looking for a central Connecticut location to volunteer your services in a unique setting? Thought about the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor? We are always in need of your talents and abilities to help make this small component of Connecticut History thrive!
As a non-profit agency we must rely, almost exclusively, on members of the public to lend a hand, not only during our special events but in the everyday considerations that make the Museum function well. Join with us to make this year the best yet. You can do so much to help, whether for a few hours or a few months. Always your choice! Pick up your phone (or email) and tell us that you would like to be a part of this Connecticut Transit History. Come on down - we’ll be looking for you…

HOT ITEMS - CAN YOU HELP US?
We have an immediate need for help in these areas. Give us a call - or email - if you would be interested in lending your talents. Make your own hours - short term or long term...

Listed below are specific areas of need. However, we also need folks that can help in the office and giftshop and/or if you have a talent (or not) and can help in the restoration of various traction projects. Give a call, drop by or email us and say that you would like to help. We will find a place for you for a few hours or a few years :-)
Electricians and Plumbers - We are always in need of these craftspersons. Licensed or those who can follow Town and State code directives.
Track Repair and Replacement – Many volunteers are needed to work on this ongoing project. The only qualification is that you must be 18 years of age. One day, one week, etc. Any amount of time helps. A great way to get your exercise also!
Painting – We have many opportunities for inside and outside painting.
Heavy Equipment Operators – If you enjoy operating heavy equipment we have trailers and many other things that have to be moved and relocated. In addition we also will be installing a parking lot sewer drain pipe.
Restoration - Do you have a craftsman/craftswoman's oriented ability to work with your hands? We have ongoing projects in this area which include; electro mechanical, metal, wood and fabric repair/restoration. Watch your projects come to life ... and we are not talking models here folks;-0
We are an equal opportunity Museum - M/F ;-)

Clarification
There has been some misunderstanding in the past that volunteers must become members of the Trolley Museum in order to help out. We want to put that to rest by saying that volunteers are always welcome with no strings attached. Your time is valuable to you and to us. Come on in and give us a hand in any manner that is comfortable to you, at any time. If you feel that your activities here on the Museums campus are rewarding and that you find yourself spending more and more time with us, then, and only then, will we ask that you become a member - if you hadn’t already decided that was in your best interest. We need your help and we will do whatever it takes to make your time with us enjoyable and fulfilling.
